ARISTA National Honor Society

ARISTA or The National Junior Honor Society is a worldwide organization that consists of chapters in middle schools recognizing high achieving students. In order to be a member of the NJHS, a student has to apply and that student is evaluated by the four core values: scholarship, community service, leadership and character. They must maintain a high grade point average:

  • Grade 7 – a final average of 85% or above

  • Grade 8 – beginning in the 3rd marking period – an average of 90% or above.

The National Junior Honor Society was established to recognize outstanding middle level students. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1929.

Students must also participate in a minimum of 20 hours of community service projects within or outside of the school. Students can have a maximum of 5 lateness for the school year.
